Company cases about Reducing Product Damage During Transport for a Tofu Producer

Reducing Product Damage During Transport for a Tofu Producer

2026-09-21
A tofu producer was dealing with a recurring issue: their egg tofu was arriving at retail locations with visible cracks and deformation, leading to returns and lost sales. The problem was not the tofu itself but the packaging—the bags lacked the structural support needed to protect the product during handling and transport.

We examined their existing bag dimensions, filling volume, and stacking method. The tube diameter was slightly oversized, leaving too much residual air that allowed the tofu to shift inside the bag during movement. We recalculated the dimensions to match their fill weight more precisely, reducing air space and stabilizing the product. We also adjusted the film thickness to provide better puncture resistance without making the bag difficult to open.

After switching to the revised packaging, transport damage dropped significantly, and the producer reported fewer returns from retail partners. The same solution was later applied across their other product sizes.
